Turner & Scott's Top 10 Makeup Bag Must Haves!

If you live in Asheville, NC you've {hopefully} heard of Turner & Scott. Nestled in Biltmore Park, Katina Turner & Jeffre Scott are fabulous! Seriously.

Not only do I call Katina a Sweet Friend, Jeffre has shaped my brows and helped me find the perfect look for multiple weddings (2013, we had 15, maybe more!).

These two know their stuff, too. Here's a little bio on each... Get ready to be wowed!

Katina Turner learned from an early age that cotton and cashmere are equally important in a women’s wardrobe, a pair of heels should have the same heft as a pair of flip flops & eye cream is a necessity.  That sharp sense of style runs in the family.  Katina’s mother worked for cosmetics giant Estee Lauder for 15 years and her father was the manager of the Saks Fifth Avenue men’s department in New York City and often reported the latest fashion trends in television.  At the dinner table little Katina learned to pronounce Balenciaga and that good moisturizer is a must.
After college, Katina was hired for a coveted internship with MTV in New York City.  The executive producer of MTV’s hit show “House of Style” noticed how bravely she paired camo pants with metallic ballet flats and hired her on the spot.  Katina climbed the style ladder working as a makeup artist, stylist producer, on-air host discussing the in’s and out’s of fashion and beauty trends.  Little did she realize just down the hall was a guy who could not only pronounce Margiela but was wearing one of the Belgian designer’s shirts.  Brian, an MTV producer asked Katina out and on their first date she agreed to marry him.  But be assured she first peeked in his medicine cabinet and noted it was full of Kiehl’s products.  He was an obvious keeper.
After making the commute to their Brooklyn brownstone on the R train one too many late nights they decided the subway wasn’t good for them or their skin and moved to Brian’s hometown Asheville NC.  With the move Katina brought a fresh dose of glamour opening up Turner & Co Apothecary a high-end beauty and skin care boutique stocked full of brands previously unavailable in Asheville.
After three great years in Biltmore Village and one baby later it was time for a change. Sadly, Katina closed Turner & Co.  Apothecary, packed up the family and moved back to her beloved NYC- BUT Asheville & beauty are never too far from her thoughts.  Now she shuttles back and forth from NY to NC and is thrilled with her new venture Turner & Scott with beauty expert and partner Jeffre Scott-of Jeffre Scott Apothecary in Charlotte, NC.
*** She and her family now reside here permanently, again! YAY!***

Born and raised in the Midwest, Jeffre Scott began his career in the beauty industry as a national makeup artist for Chanel.  His creativity and experience quickly led him to be the national sales director and educator for Philip B. Botanical products, where he developed a passion for consulting in the booming apothecary market.
In 1999, he started Jeffre Scott New York City, a retail product management firm specializing in brand imaging, niche market consulting and sales.  The mission was to source top specialty brands and connect them with the best boutiques across the county, providing sales training, education and retail advice.
By early 2004, Jeffre had successfully expanded his consulting business in the Southeast, establishing himself as the go-to expert in the growing apothecary market.  Always ahead of the curve, Jeffre sensed an opportunity in the Charlotte market.  He left New York City to fulfill his dream of opening his own boutique and making Charlotte home.  The Jeffre Scott boutique opened its doors on Providence Road in 2006.  Since then, the store has been Charlotte’s premier shop for luxury beauty products and services.  Now Jeffre travels back and forth from Charlotte to his new favorite city of Asheville with tweezers in tow and ready to talk beauty!

Seriously. I told you they were fabulous.
